Free-Diving with Jellyfish & Other Marine Creatures off the Cornish Coast.

Jellyfish are my favourite sea creatures, as I love the way they serenely pulsate their soft bodies with the motion of the ocean currents.

There are around 1,500 different documented species and many yet to be discovered.

They don’t have a brain or a spinal cord but they do have a nervous system that senses touch.

They have just one opening in their bodies from which they eat and excrete food.

Jellyfish cross entire oceans feeding on whatever gets caught in their stinging tentacles.

They vary greatly in size from minuscule to longer than a blue whale.

The Box Jellyfish (thankfully not found in our UK seas) are found in oceans off Asia and Australia and have one of the deadliest venoms on earth and can kill a man in less than 5 minutes. They have 24 eyes giving them 360 degree vision.

When Jellyfish come across large patches of plankton their numbers explode, and when large quantities gather together they are called a Smack of Jellyfish.

There is still much to learn about these ancient species that predate dinosaurs, being over 500 millions years old, which is one of the reasons I am so intrigued to Free-Dive alongside and photograph them.

The Jellyfish and Sea Creatures in my Videos were all taken in the seas off our wonderful Cornish Coastline:

Many people ask me why I love Jellyfish so much ...... this video shows why, as I see them as Calm, Serene and Beautiful Creatures and when I am with them I feel so very calm and blessed.

The Jellyfish species is over 500 million years old, which reminds me that that we are just passing through on this planet as part of our eternal spiritual journey .........πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈπŸ§˜
